Julio Gutierrez is a proven self-starter and tackles every task with hard work and dedication. By exemplifying these attributes and others, Julio has earned recognition as the Wilsonville Employee of the Month for January.

Having joined Houston’s back in 2001, Julio has been a reliable part of the team for more than 20 years. Julio is responsible for many of the maintenance and janitorial tasks around the Wilsonville warehouse and offices. He can also be counted on as a versatile and adaptable team player.

In addition to his usual workload, he has the ability to step in whenever needed to unload containers, roll mats, assemble carts, and perform many other tasks that need to be accomplished.

Julio’s hard work has frequently been recognized. He was a Five-Star Employee on the SPARQ wall 7 out of 12 months throughout 2021.

“He takes every task that is given to him, and gives that task 100% effort,” said Greg Jones, Warehouse Manager. “And if he doesn’t have a task given to him, he’ll give himself a task, and put out the same effort.”

It’s evident that Julio has a keen eye for identifying the things that need attention and takes initiative to ensure they’re done properly.

That drive has led Julio to grow in his role over the past 20 years. In the time since he started with Houston’s, he has branched out to fix equipment and do some forklift repair in addition to his main duties. He is a valued asset to the team in many important ways.

Outside of work, Julio enjoys taking on home projects and going on trips. Destinations with coastline views are among his favorites, with the beaches in Puerto Escondido, Mexico as a top experience.
