For going above and beyond with hard work utilizing a diversified skill set, Alex Villarreal has earned recognition as Employee of the Month for October.

Alex started with Houston’s in August of 2000, and her experience and longevity have been invaluable assets to the Houston’s team in navigating through recent challenges.

The impacts of the supply chain, labor shortages, and transportation disruptions have had widespread effects across the country and the world at large. Houston’s is grateful to have dedicated individuals like Alex helping to relieve some of these challenges.

Through the past month, Alex has volunteered to come in and work extra hours in order to help receiving stay caught up. Drawing on her 21+ years of experience, Alex possesses the knowledge and ability to work in most departments in the warehouse. She has been very flexible on changing daily duties to ensure that our customers’ needs are met, and her team stays strong.

“She is one of the top checkers/receivers in our department, as well as maintains a high-performance level in UPC,” said Brenda Hart, Receiving Supervisor. “Alex is willing to do whatever is asked of her and changes task and departments whenever she is needed to accommodate the needs of the company.”

On a near-daily basis, Alex encounters various unplanned changes in her day. With each change she communicates and works with teammates in the Receiving Department to make sure that these changes go as smoothly as possible.

Outside of work, Alex has a husband and grown children. She also has two grandchildren that she loves spending time with when they visit.

For all your hard work this month, Houston’s thanks you and congratulates you, Alex! The honor is well-deserved.
