By exemplifying teamwork, dedication, and a positive attitude, Mike Roland has earned recognition as the Kansas City Warehouse Employee of the Quarter for Q1 of 2022.

Mike started with Houston’s in January of 2016, and has had an impactful presence, consistently ranking as a 5-star employee on the SPARQ wall. Over the past quarter, he has posted the highest score on auto-stocking.

Kansas City Warehouse Assistant Manager Brenda Willett describes Mike as an all-around versatile employee and a great personality to have on the team.

One of Mike’s strengths is his knowledge and familiarity with the equipment. He is particularly skilled on the reach truck. With his focus and dedication, Mike sets a good example and even takes part in the training of others.

“Most employees look up to Mike,” said Brenda. “He is a good role model.” Brenda adds that Mike takes challenges head-on, and consistently looks for ways to learn and grow.

Though Mike already exhibited his many great qualities when he joined Houston’s, he has grown within the company’s processes and procedures, while maintaining a goal of continual improvement.

Outside of work, Mike likes doing projects around the house, and enjoys fishing when he gets the chance. Mike is married and has grown children. He also has grandkids, and even one great-grandchild! He also has a little chihuahua named Martin.
