Eduardo Reyes is an early riser, but mornings don’t dampen his desire to work. It is that attitude that earned him November 2020’s Employee of the Month award.

Eduardo has worked for Houston’s for the past 14 years. He says that part of what he likes so much about working for our company is his schedule. “I used to have a job with a bad schedule,” he says, “so working somewhere that respects my time is important to me.” Of course, Eduardo knows there’s more to Houston’s besides when he clocks in. “I also love the people. The friendly environment here is so great.”

When away from work, Eduardo can be found playing soccer with his son. Whether in the front yard or at the park, he says that the two of them just love getting outside and kicking the ball around.

About the work that earned him this month’s award, Eduardo’s supervisor noted his independence and reliability.  “Eduardo is very self-motivated. He often will see tasks that needs to be completed and will do them without having to be asked. His ability and his willingness to help out in every department makes him a valuable employee to Houston’s.”

What is something you’re really excited for?

My family really likes going to the zoo, so hopefully we can do that again soon.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

It’s sometimes so hard to resist going to Starbucks for a cappuccino after work. I know all of the flavor options from always seeing syrups at work, which makes staying away even harder.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Oregon is a good fit for me.

What’s the best way to start a day?

Wake up, and get to work.
