Diligent, honest, and self-motivated are just a few of the terms that have been used to describe Jose Vazquez. For these qualities and more, Jose has earned recognition as the Wilsonville Warehouse Employee of the Month for May.

A Five-Star employee on the SPARQ wall for April, Jose operates with a continual dedication to safety and productivity, while also striving for the highest degree of responsibility and quality in his work.

In terms of productivity, Jose notched 152 units picked per hour over the course of the month, and has demonstrated a consistency of being among the top order pullers.

Since joining Houston’s in 2013, Jose has shown a commitment to doing the job right. He is frequently called upon to train new hires, and goes above and beyond with a constant drive to stay busy.

In the words of Angie Buffetta, Cash & Carry Supervisor, Jose earned Employee of the Month recognition “due to all his hard work and dedication – always willing to come in early, stay late, and help other departments,” she said.

In a display of that willingness and versatility, Jose helps with receiving and is counted on to do his part to keep the warehouse aisles clear of empty boxes and other debris. Taking responsibility to ensure a clutter- and hazard-free workspace is yet another reason why Jose has been a valued member of the Houston’s family going on nine years.

Outside of work, Jose is married, has two children, and a five-month-old granddaughter. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, going to the park, and having movie nights with his wife.

The runners up for the month are Angel Cervantes (first runner up) and Jose Cornelio (second runner up).
