You have to be fast and accurate to be the Houston’s Merchandising Coordinator, and Adam Gooch fits that mold perfectly. Having hands in new item setups, item transitions and maintenance, supporting merchandisers in the field with supplies and scheduling, and even creating promotions, there’s constantly something to do. The high demand of this position is daunting, but Adam rises to the challenge every day, and that’s what has made him our newest Office Employee of the Quarter.

When asked what keeps him motivated, Adam says, “The free coffee and snacks of course! But seriously, hands down, it’s the people and our company culture. Surrounding yourself with people that make you better, faster, and stronger is important for growth on both a personal and professional level; I found that here at Houston’s.”

Adam says he sees Houston’s as a second home and family, but he does go to his other home on occasion. During the summer months, he likes to go to the beach, hike, or do yard work. When the weather isn’t cooperating, Adam spends time with his family and likes to work on DIY projects, especially his recently acquired 1960’s pickup truck. “My newfound interest is combustion engines and automotive mechanics,” he says. “If there are any automotive gurus here at Houston’s, my door is always open!”

“Adam has been integral in the success of Merchandising over the past few years,” says Director of Merchandising Geoff Dann. “He has made many new connections with both our customers and vendors, which continues to aid in his growth at Houston’s. Adam shows initiative by consistently working to better his output, plus he engages positively with his peers with a solution-based mentality.  It’s an absolute joy to work so closely with him.” Keep it up and congratulations on this award, Adam!
