Houston’s newest Employee of the Month is Julio Gutierrez. But we’re sure that title’s just routine for this Houston’s employee who has been working for the company for 19 years! When we asked Julio what about the job has kept him with us for so long, he explained that he loves staying active. “I’m always moving around, always doing something. Time goes by so fast when I’m working.” Even though Julio’s on his feet almost all day at Houston’s, he likes to just go for walks in his time away from work too. He says that going on hikes or heading to the beach with his family is one of his favorite ways to relax.

When we spoke to Julio’s supervisor, there was no shortage to the amount of praise to heap on him. Of our recent Employee of the Month, Julio’s supervisor noted his dependability and always cheerful demeanor. “Julio is just an outstanding employee, someone you can always count on. He always does his job and then some without any complaints. We are lucky to have him here at Houston’s.”

What is something you’re really excited for?

I’m always excited to come into work! I always look forward spending time with my family on the weekend too.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

I really like watching Texas Trucks. It’s a television show where people turn big rigs into art.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Oregon is perfect!

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve eaten?

Snails. I didn’t like it.

What’s the best way to start a day?

I like the day to start fast-paced so I can slow down at the end. A cup of coffee really helps with that!
