Say Htun, May 2017 KC Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Say Htun our Kansas City Warehouse Employee of the Month for May! Say first started at Houston’s as a temp and became an official member of the team as of May 2017. His role with Houston’s is an Order Picker primarily but he also works in the Receiving Department, where he processes and receives in product from our vendors as well as helps process transfers.

When asked what he likes most about working at Houston’s he said, “I like everything about Houston’s, it feels like home”. His favorite thing about his job is the team and never having a boring day.

His supervisor Sherman Dodd has nothing but great things to comment about his newest addition – “Say has been a breath of fresh air to the Houston’s Kansas City facility. He reminds me of a former employee that used to work here. He is always ready to do whatever needs to be done, no complaints, just gets right to the task and gets it done and done right. He is very conscious of his work. He is proud of what he does and, rightfully so. Since beginning as a temporary worker in February 2017, Say has consistently been a top performer”.

When away from work Say enjoys a variety of sporting activities such as volleyball, soccer, and working out at the gym. One thing you may not know about Say is that he originally came to the United States in 1999 from his native country Burma. When he first came to America, he didn’t even speak English. Over the next two years he mastered the English language, and eventually found Houston’s. Once he joined us, he began to appreciate the culture and teamwork shared by everyone in the KC Warehouse. Say immediately began recruiting his younger brother, Adrian, to work here because he liked it so much. Adrian said, “I have seen another side of Say since joining him at work”.
