Randy Draper, KC Warehouse Employee of the Month

This month we would like to applaud Randy Draper for being selected as Kansas City’s Employee of the Month for March! Randy first started with Houston’s in November of 2006. He is our local driver out of the Kansas City Warehouse and he also helps out part time for warehouse support. “Randy is an all-around great employee. Not only does he take care of our Kansas City deliveries but he also is very helpful in the warehouse. He takes pride in his work and it has a way of affecting everyone around him,” said Paul Kent, HTrans Lead.

When asked what he likes most about Houston’s, Randy said he enjoys the people that represent Houston’s. “We have a variety of people with great personalities and generally fun people to be around, which makes it enjoyable to come to work everyday.” His favorite part about his job is driving and interacting with customers. Randy feels that his job is not just about delivering products, but also creating an experience. He takes the time to actually get to know some of the customers creating relationships to a point where he knows about many of their kids’ lives. He feels this really makes a difference, instead of just being “that delivery guy” delivering a box to the customer.

Randy enjoys spending his free time with his family, his wife of five years and his three sons. Randy’s outside hobbies include playing basketball and spending time with his large extended family in the Kansas City metro area. He has also been a deacon at his church for the past three years. This involves leading the finance committee, serving as an inspirational speaker for the church and youth groups, and he serves as outside event coordinator for activities like church picnics. Randy likes to keep himself busy.
