If you haven’t already met Scott Gilbert, now is a good time to say hello, welcome him to Portland (and to Houston’s!), and congratulate him on being selected the 2013 third quarter Employee of the Quarter.
Scott started working with Houston’s in February 2013 and has quickly garnered appreciation for a job well done. He works primarily in the Returns Department in the warehouse, where he inspects returned merchandise to determine how it should be processed and then generates paperwork for credit/non-credit for accounting. He also serves as a driver, delivering daily to Sysco, and as a back-up local driver when needed for deliveries in the Portland/Vancouver area.

Scott enjoys his job because of the variety it offers. With the combination of processing returns, delivering product, running cycle counts in the warehouse, and other miscellaneous duties assigned to him, there is little chance for boredom while at work. He gets to do a little of everything, and he feels his resulting enthusiasm is what makes him good at what he does.

In his spare time, Scott likes to ride mountain bikes and to read about natural history. In the summer months he enjoys paintball, and in the winter he takes to the slopes for snowboarding.
