Stephanie Jusino, Accounting Assistant

Please join me in congratulating Stephanie Jusino, 2014’s second quarter Employee of the Quarter!

Stephanie joined Houston’s in October 2012 as a member of the Inside Sales team. In July 2013 she moved to the Accounts Payable department and in November she accepted her current position as Accounting Assistant.

Being an accounting assistant requires some flexibility, which Stephanie handles well. She has the ability to bounce back and forth between such jobs as bill-backs and promos, then on to taxes and financials, and then over to approving payments on invoices before checks are written. All this while still helping out the Accounts Payable department, answering questions and filling in as needed. She is constantly learning new things, something she loves most about her job. Finding discrepancies, she says, is like putting the pieces of a puzzle together, and she welcomes the challenge. This, combined with a talent for multi-tasking, handling stress well, and a willingness to figure things out on her own, are what she feels makes her excel in her position.

And her supervisor agrees, too, that being able to step in and self-learn with a great attitude play a large role in earning Stephanie her Employee of the Quarter honor! She readily accepted the challenges thrown at her while the accounting department was both in transition and short-handed, always completing her work in a timely manner. In fact, Stephanie has been instrumental in streamlining some accounting processes by devising new methods and procedures in order to save valuable time. And if she doesn’t already know how to do something, no worries—Stephanie will do the research or ask questions to make certain she understands a process, thus ensuring her work is not only timely but also correct.

Stephanie loves to be out of doors and much of her free time is spent hiking or grilling outside. Her favorite place is Cannon Beach but she also enjoys the East Coast and plans to visit family there soon. She also enjoys yoga and board games, watching TV, and listening to her boyfriend play the drums with his band.
